Simon is a landscape painter based in the Cotswolds. As an observational artist, his drawings and paintings of rural and urban landscapes are direct interpretations that capture a place, rhyhtm and atmosphere.
Drawing is the foundation from which his work evolves - bringing a strong sense of composition and visual structure to his work. Mark-making, colour and texture become a means of engaging with his surroundings.
Having grown up in Gloucestershire and spending many years in Wales, his practice continues to be shaped by time spent outdoors, frequently drawing and painting on location in and around the Stroud Valleys.
